I have tried using egg nog instead of milk to make my cappuccinos, with a dusting of nutmeg on top. You cannot steam the eggnog to the same high temp as the milk, it will scorch. Only steam hot enough to just start feeling the heat on the outside of the pitcher, then stop. Makes a very sweet, rich and fattening drink, so less is more... LOL

For my taste I've found I like my eggnog lattes better if I thin them 50/50 with milk. Besides the frothing problems with straight eggnog, I thought the eggnog straight overpowered the espresso. By thinning it, I find that you still get plenty of egg noggity goodness while still being able to taste your espresso.
Another drink I make seasonally is peppermint mochas. For some reason they always seem just right around Christmas, but I don't really care for them at other times of the year.

Perhaps I should loosen up and not be so anal about being a purist and experiment a little. For Christmas since I have a little more free time, I just try and make the best espresso possible. My wife likes cappuccinos, so I'll try and get the best pour, best steamed milk possible.
