Hi, just wondering if using an insulated mug will affect the taste for coffee that has milk ie latte. I am thinking of getting one as want to reduce the use of paper cup when I buy my cup of latte, but remember once when I had used one before, the latte hadnt tasted the same as from a paper cup.
Is it possible that the insulated/ keep warm function can affect the taste of milk?

Depends on how you plan to use it... If you plan to use an insolated cup like a paper one, ie drinking the coffee within a very short period of time after brewing, I can't see any problems. If you plan to let it wait for half an hour or more before drinking it there is to my knowledge two things you should be aware of: 1) coffee is best right after its brewed and 2) warm milk, at 60-70 degrees celsius, the ideal warmth for steamed milk, is also ideal temp for milk bacteria. This means milk can turn sour within an hour.

I have an insulated coffee mug and it makes my coffee taste like plastic, which isn't very pleasant at all. I suppose if you used another material like aluminum it might be better? I really enjoy being able to take a coffee with me on the go.

I have several tumblers. One is plastic (startbucks) 16oz, and it works fine for my mocha's. I also have a stainless vacuum thermo 16oz, and it keeps it very hot for a long time. neither affect the taste. Both of these have been used for coffee also with no taste difference.
