Go to google, type in "Home barista list of favorites" follow what will probably be the first hit. It's hard to go wrong with any of the roasters on that list.

A decent place to get roasted coffee, without paying an arm and a leg for it, is www.CoffeeBeanDirect.com , from the state of New Jersey.

A 12 oz. bag of what? A special microlot? A custom blend? Beans that, wheil they may not individually be great, are blended to enforce each other's strengths and so make an exceptionally balanced cup? In the past year, I have paid as little as $7 and as much as $22 for a 12 oz. bag of coffee roasted by small, quality roasters. It's so dependent on the beans and the skill of the roaster that it's hard to say what a "fair" price is. Everything in the price range I quote above has been worth drinking.

Several years ago I learned about Red Bird from reading posts on Coffee Geek.  Red Bird has great coffee, they have wonderful customer service (coffee roasted on Tuesday will be on your steps on Thursday) and the price is reasonable for the quality of the beans.  You can learn a lot by reading posts on Coffee Geek.

Interesting, I ordered from them several years ago and was not happy at all, I received 10 pounds of stale beans though they claimed them to be fresh. Have you had recent contact with them ? Perhaps they have improved??!!!
