Posted Tue Jun 25, 2013, 9:02am Subject: We are organizing a new Competition of Baristas, by Kaffa Cafe
It's not call "Kaffa's Barista Competition", due to the undefined "right of Nomination" of this competition.
But I would explain some difference between our competition and WBC or similars. It will be in 19 to 21 of this August, in Beijing of China.
The competitors can appoint the water pressure for the machine and the chosen beans. Before they go to their competition, the staffs can set the water pressure according to their choice.
The competitors will make 4 cups of espresso as well as 4 cups of cappuccino respectively for two professional judges, and a normal customer judges and the last one for the competitors themselves. Besides the scores of those judges and the chief judge, they have to taste their coffee and give themselves' score for their coffee. The result will be calculated according to their score and the score by the judges, and the closer their score to the judges' score, the higher their final score is.
Besides the professional judges and the competitors themselves, we also will have some normal customers judges, who are mainly from the normal drinkers, mostly Italians in China.
We are going to arrange the better competitors of the day to make coffee for the visitors of the show and the competition, to let most people to taste their coffee.
We are going to make all those appears scores weaker than the most important taste scores, through the formal factors forced to different scores.
The above is the main respects for our competition. I do expect to hear your comments and opinion for it.
