Subject: I'll tell you how important a good grinder is

This has been said here a hundred (probably more) times.  Well, I gotta say it just once more.

I was having some real challenges getting a good cup of espresso at my house.  I had tried different blends, adjusting the grind (on my cheapie grinder), and everything else I could think of to avoid spending the money for a good grinder.

Well, as most of us know, none of that stuff works.  You have to have a good grinder.  There's no other way.

Furthermore, with my Rocky now grinding my Sumatra/Brazilian blend just right, I'm getting great shots from my little one hundred dollar machine.  I'm sure they will get better when Silvia gets here next week.

Moral: a good grinder can make even a barely passable machine do pretty wonderous things.

Cheers,
TC
