I have been drinking coffee since I was a nipper, worked as a barista for 2 years, now have an espresso machine at home. I can still only drink a maximum of 2 coffees a day. One in the morning, one later in the afternoon. Any more and I get a dose of the sweats, palpitations and multiple bathroom visits.. Think it just varies from person to person..

If your body is having problems with any food there are normally two reasons- a problem with the food, or your body is trying to tell you something. Having food in your stomach before consuming coffee may help or possibly drinking some water either before or with the coffee to dilute it in your system. Bicycle racers use to mic Coke 50/50 with water to get the benefits of the sugar and caffeine without the dehydration problems that straight Coke could cause. But if the problem continues it might be time to either switch coffee, switch brewing methods, or switch to a different beverage.
