It really was not any different than what I had envisioned happens inside the coffee basket and in his case, modified to a portafilter (the coffee basket that holds the coffee sits INSIDE the portafilter) OH as a warning to people, the volume is really LOUD so you may want to turn the volume down before you hit the play arrow.
You can't SEE pressure inside the machine. It does not improve the shot in any way, I suppose like a bottomless PF, you may see some way to improve your shot prep but also like a bottomless PF, once you get your prep and grind correct, it is pretty much only eye candy, not adding anything to the shot.
Fun to see though I guess ;D
OH, BTW, as soon as you can, you will want to upgrade your grinder. The Capresso is really holding back your Oscar.
In real life, my name is Wayne P. Anything I post is personal opinion and is only worth as much as anyone else's personal opinion. YMMV!
Feed the newbs, starve the trolls and above all enjoy what you drink!
The beginning of that video you can see the whole puck lift when the lever piston is lifted. (This is on a lever machine.) So lever machines might benefit from lifting the lever and then locking the portafilter to ensure a good seal around the outside. There are supposed to be more videos in the future too.
