My friend came over today with a PF he chopped up himself.
(It's actually the one from my old KYM machine)

We made up a couple of shots and I took pics.
The drinks were yummy and gorgeous.....

The crema looks carmel-like pouring but very dark in the cup.

Here's that picture for comparison - this was taken just after the above pics, using the same blend and grind but with the normal PF.  Good striping but a very different look in the stream and in the cup too.

Awesome photos, especially #2!  I wish I had one, in fact I've been tempted to buy one on numerous occasions except if I did I'd pretty much be donating it to my work because I don't have a machine at home.

What did he use to make it nekked?  A chisel?  Coffee looks good though.

I didn't use a chisel, but I did use a Dremel (while a little bit hung-over) to make my crotchless portafilter. ( shown in Jon's earlier photos )

I used a heavy-duty cutting disk (cut-off wheel) attached to a 35,000 RPM Dremel MultiPro Model 275 grinding/cutting drill.

My dremel cut through the metal of my portafilter like a hot knife through butter.
