Can someone measure the diameter of the lid? I have a Pasquini with doser and I would like to try this. I don't get much hung up in the chute but if it is this easy to clear out old grounds each morning, why not?
It looks like 4 5/8" or 110mm but thats eyeballing - the bottom is convex I just got back from Bed Bath and Beyond where I picked one up. It's not listed on their website so maybe it's a regional thing? Is it picking nits to wish it was black? : )

Not sure what size you got... Mine's 0.6L. As you can see in my first post, it's a tight fit. In fact, if toggle is not squeezed together, lid won't come off the hopper at all.
I'm confused. Why does the Rocky grinder (or any other one) need to be cleaned? I have to assume that the grinds that are stuck in there, are for the most part, stuck, and filling up "dead voids". So if i grind coffee every day, 99.99% of what comes out, are the beans that just went in.
Are we just obsessing here, or am I totally missing some really important point?
Yeah, REALLY important, it's that other %age in your equation that you should care about, IMO! {;-) A simply analogy, if you have a bath., look at the ring, dirt, dead skin cells, soap scum., or better a shower. A continous stream of water & using the soap, but I guarantee you that not all the dirt coming off of you makes it down the drain. The inside of the grinder is the same way!
There will be stale, rancid coffee oils, & the impacted grinds & dust (accumulated buildup) can/will dislodge from the burrs over time & contaminate the fresh ground coffee. Coffee is a perisable food product! Coffee ground @ the fineness for espresso will stale within 30 mins to an hr! Actually more like within that 30 minutes, so coffee should be brewed immediately after grinding for the absolute zenith in freshness, aroma, & flavor. You can taste the difference! So those grinds stuck inside your grinder for 1, 2, 3 weeks are rancid, TRUST ME!!
