I know that there is a hack posted widely for the Starbucks Barista grinder. Does this hack also work for the Baratza Maestro? I know they're virtually the same grinder, but are they similar enough to have the same hack work on both?

I think you are correct in assuming that the machines are similar. The ony difference may be opening the case.
I would guess that if you call Baratza they will talk you through the procedure.
