Subject: Briel Java

I have had this Briel Java grinder a long time the marking on the base is not clear but the model look like CG5 (6?). The doser none return spring fractured and I had no access to spring steel. I finally repaired it with a piece of 38thou feeler guage cut to size. Great I though better give it a spring clean. However I let the burr plates foul through over adjustment (I know - t**sser), and I find can't grind as fine for espresso. See photo is the plate suppose to look like this or are the edge damaged, or is the grind another issue? Anyway I contacted Fairfax where I bought it in London and they reply that they no longer made this (I thought Briel was a Portuguese manufacturer?)

I am hoping this maybe is a standard burr plate common with other machines - see photos
measurements are OD 43mm ID 25mm 3 screw holes approx on a diameter of 37mm
Can anyone help - after 30 years, I'm out of work so a new grinder one isn't possiblility at the moment and I am relegated to pre-ground coffee
