I stumbled onto this site a few weeks ago and have been reading a little bit every day.  What a wonderful and valuable place this is!
I just bought my first "starter" grinder, the macap m-4 and am excited to get going.  I will be pairing it with my old krups machine and a french press for now, but soon to upgrade.

Thanks again to everyone to contributes to this site,
-Jeff

Welcome to the Coffeegeek forums Jeff!  {;-)

Wow, what a nice grinder & wise decision!, the grinder really is the most important piece of coffee equipment., & by buying the best you can afford you're well on your way & will save on future upgrade hassles & frustration with a cheap grinder. I look forward to reading your posts along the way in your coffee journey & exploration.

Anytime!
Remember Mark's Mantra on my post here, I can't stress it ENOUGH: "Re: Advice on a new espresso machine"
Please follow the link above, but here it is again repeated:

Quote: Whatever machine that you do choose, the grinder is of paramount importance & comes/should come first!

Remember Mark's mantra!
"Re: THANK YOU MARK!!!  Bought a Burr Grinder and LOVE IT!"
Mark's mantra is & always was, "It's better to have a great grinder & a lesser espresso machine, than a great espresso machine & a lesser grinder"., or words to that effect. {:-D
