Does anyone have any actual personal experience with this grinder?

If so, I would appreciate reading your comments.

Thanks

Rocco,

The Ditting KE640 is the exact same grinder as the Mahlkonig K30.  (Note:  if that link does not take you directly to the K30, but to the "Home Page," you will need to 1) click on "Coffee Grinder"; 2) clink on the link marked "K30 ES and K30 Vario.")  Both the Ditting KE640 comes in both a "stepped" (KE640) and "stepless" (KE640 Vario).  The Mahlkönig versions are known as the K30 ES and the K30 Vario, respectively.  On September 28, 2007, both companies merged; these are indeed the same grinder(s).

I have had my Mahlkönig K30 Vario now for approximately six weeks.  It is super-fast (a double takes 2.9 seconds) and super-quiet.  And it is super-easy to set up and use.

What is it I can tell you?  Do you have any specific questions?

FWIW, Ditting's US "headquarters" are located in Southern California (Glendale), while Mahlkönig's US base is in Belmont, just south of San Francisco International Airport.

I asked Mark to create a listing for this grinder so I can post a Consumer Review, but it has yet to happen . . . all I can say is "Wow!" and that I am extremely happy with mine!  Several people over on HB have either the Mahlkönig or Ditting version of this grinder, and I think it's unanimous!

I'm sure you will, too.

I had a chance to play with the dual version K60ES just a couple months ago at the Roaster's Guild Retreat in Minnesota. It was very fast, very quiet and not at all messy for a doserless.   I ground and pulled no more than a dozen or so shots but was highly impressed.
