Posted Thu Feb 5, 2009, 2:32pm Subject: Problem with a Rocky
I have 2 Rocky grinders. One works fine, the other doesn't. With the problem grinder, when I set the grind so that I get a double shot in a Silvia in 20-25 sec, after the the beans have been ground, the burrs grind against each other until the rotation stops. If I pull forward on the top of the hopper, the contact between the burrs more or less stops. If I set the grind to where there's no contact between the burrs after the grind has finished, the grind is too coarse, i.e., double shot in about 10 sec. It seems to me that there may be some kind of alignment problem. Any ideas on how to fix or where to send it for repairs (it has gone back to Aabree once already for the same issue)? The "good" grinder doesn't have any sort of problem and I can easily set it to get a 20-25 sec double shot.
