I'm moving to a place without a Synesso in site, so I decided to gear up for home espresso.
Instead of the Silvia I imagined, I ended up with a La Cimbali M27 2group (I have a very understanding wife) and a Alinox branded DRM/La Cimbali grinder.
It is missing some pieces, what Im going to call "the adjustment wheel", the funnel top, and the hopper.
My local dealer was not particularly helpful, and I've been unable to locate the parts on the 'net; and so I turn to you Great-Internet-Coffee-Hivemind with the following questions:
Does anyone know where any of these parts could be located? It seems as though DRM is still in business making a grinder just like this, but my italian is very bad. click here
Is it worth the cost (or possible) to change over to the conical burrs that Schomer was using?

You could try cafe parts. Not sure exactly what you need but they have diagrams with the parts numbered so you can try and figure it out. I'm sure there is someone else here with more experience with that grinder though so hopefully one of them will chime in.

Ya, for a couple smaller items it's not bad to buy from them, but before you know it you can easily spend more on trivial replacement parts than what was spent on acquiring the machine itself.

I think the bare minimum you'd need to use it somewhat properly is the "adjustment ring nut". This goes along with the worm gear adjustment shaft that is what your missing knob attaches to in the front. You can always try to make a hopper/throat out of PVC pipe or something similar, and it should work ok but it might not be visually appealing. The plastic parts for these grinders can be ridiculously expensive in my opinion, and you can sometimes find a used grinder for less that would include those missing parts. Chris' Coffee might be able to get some of the parts for you, but again they're not going to be inexpensive. First thing you'd want is a working adjustment for the upper burr carrier, then the rest can possibly be made out of hardware store parts if you don't care about factory looks.

Not sure if you have them already, but there should be some screws that hold the adjustment "gear" onto the upper burr carrier. You might want to either order some of those (if you don't have them), or try to find some locally although the exact type of screw you need for that can be a challenge to find sometimes. Hope it works so you can at least use it - those are nice grinders and I have the similar Cimbali Junior version myself.
