Subject: Multi-Duty Grinder under $300

Hi guys,

I am a soon to be new owner of a PL041QE Le'Lit and I am looking for a multi-use grinder under $300.  I plan on using the grinder about 70-30 coffee to espresso.  I have studied the Bartaza line but I am having trouble narrowing down what would be my best choice.  I am leaning toward the Preciso or Virtuoso, but I would be open to suggestions from other brands.

The only other stipulation is that I would really prefer if the grinder was available on Amazon since I have $200 in Amazon credit I am hoping to use.

I am obviously a relative newbie here, so any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jake

The Baratza Virtuoso Preciso would be a pretty good choice. It's definitely better suited to espresso grinds than the regular Virtuoso, and even compares favorably with the Vario, and it will still do a great job with the full range as well. Not to mention it's sold on Amazon, with Prime no less. The only drawback is that it's really only about a year old at this point, so while Baratza's products tend to have pretty good longevity, there's no multi-year feedback there yet. That might be something to consider, given the investment.

The baratza preciso is what I recommend... It works great for espresso.. And is supposed to work well for drip and french press although I have not tried it for those...  I would not recommend the virtuoso for espresso...and u can get preciso  from amazon here http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003JFCRN6/ref=redir_mdp_mobile

I'm also liking my Preciso (which I use for espresso, Turkish, french press, moka pot and drip - it goes straight back to the espresso setting and gives consistent shots, even with Turkish and FP grinds in between).  You might also find a refurbed one on Baratza's site for around $230 (I think they update on Fridays) if you're lucky.
