I have a budget priced espresso machine and was thinking of sticking in the same range for a burr grinder. Which one would you reccomend?

If I were you, I'd definitely go with the Pharos. It's a fantastic grinder for the money, but it's a hand grinder so I doubt it's what you're looking for. I think you can get a used or refurbished Baratza Preciso for around $220-$240, which would be much more user friendly than the Pharos. These suggestions are assuming you're willing to spend around how much you spent on the machine for a grinder. Regardless of what you settle on, I suggest that you trash the pressurized portafilter insert as soon as you get a capable grinder.

I actually already pitched the pressurized portafilter for a non pressureized one. I'll start the hunt on the Preciso. thanks!

It seems though there is a long thread on here with people really having problems with the Preciso after only months of owning it

I'm not recommending the Preciso... just thought I'd show you that they are available in the price range mentioned by someone else.  I don't know anything about the Preciso grinder other than what I read.  Good luck in your hunting.

I'm actually using a Preciso with a Saeco Aroma with modified portafilter.  I did have some problems with the Preciso but their custommer service is great and I got new improved parts for free even after my warranty period was over.  It's been working great since.   I haven't tried other grinders besides a cheap DeLongni that I now use for filter only.

I'm recommending the Preciso based on what I've read and Baratza's excellent customer service; I personally haven't even used any Baratza. I haven't heard many negative things about the Preciso, and I see it often recommended as a great value grinder. Honestly, you're buying a ~$250 grinder intended for exclusively home use, so you have to be realistic about the durability issue. It's probably going to break eventually, but I'm sure that Baratza's customer service will take care of you very well if/when it does.
