Posted Sun May 27, 2012, 8:10pm Subject: Rancilio grind adjustment keeps slipping
I have a 4 year old Rancilio Md40 grinder and recently had problems with the grinding being unequal in that the grind was either too fine or too coarse. I had the teeth replaced by technicians but the problem remains. The machine is setup for the correct grind but after a day or so or even a few hours, the grind has become either too fine or too coarse. I'm talking about no more than 20-30 grinds - we are a small bistro and do not sell that much coffee. It seems that the adjustment of the knurled adjustment knob loses its position . Could it be loose bearings as suggested by a friend ? The techs have been back twice and don't seem to have a clue. Thx,
