Espresso: My Pressi Twist
Posted Wed Jun 6, 2012, 12:59pm Subject: Grinder recommendations for My Pressi Twist
New to the site, I note quite a few opinions out there with regard to choosing a grinder. I am now convinced that the proper grinder is even more important than the machine. I have made some really good shots with the My Pressi and some coffeeshop ground beans, and would like to do exclusive home grinding with consistent results. I know I would like to use a conical burr grinder which would drop the product directly into a standard basket. I would also like to use the same grinder for drip and french press. In other words, I want it all. My hope is to do a consistent grind so I can use the My Pressi provided standard basket as well as the coarse basket that is also supplied, and I have been told that most grinders will not grind fine enough to use the MyPressi standard basket. I do not want to break the bank, but I'd also like to avoid the mistake of making a significant purchase, only to find that it does not do the trick with the MyPressi. I look forward to any recommendations you might have, especially from those of you who have used the My Pressi and also grind for non espresso coffees, using the same grinder. Thanks.
