I am using the Mahlkonig k30 twin grinder, it's brand new and I understand that there are often issues with adjusting it initially because it is new. However, right now I have Intelligentsia's black cat and decaf black cat in each. It seems as though there is just an issue with the left side, because I have run both espressos on that side at different times and they pull extremely short. Now, I have decaf on that side and the only way I have gotten it to pull a little better is by setting the grind to 0. I have adjusted the screws inside, as well. Is this an issue I can try to adjust more or do we need to try to get someone else to repair it? Right now, I have the grind set at 0 and it's pulling at 13 seconds. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Kaitlin, welcome to CG. Obviously, you know that decaf will necessitate grinding finer, but having read some info a while ago about your grinder, I can't begin to venture a reason for your trouble/ Are there calibration procedures that can be performed? I assume the beans are fresh...say 5-6 days post roast?
What machine are you using, and is the pressure set properly. I'm assuming it's not Super Auto?
In my experience (with Mazzers) and new burrs, it can often take 20 #'s through them before they are properly broken in.
Hopefully someone familiar with your grinder can ask more substantive and relevant questions...and provide answers. Hang in there.

I tried calibrating one part but someone was telling me today I need to match up the burrs to be closer together today, so I'm going to try that tomorrow and see if that fixes anything. Thank you for your input, though, I really appreciate it!
