Hello Coffegeek experts -
I bought a 8 years ago and have not had a single problem with it and absolutely love it. I use it for 2-4 espressos per day as a normal home enthusiast would do. I am wondering when (or if) I should change the burrs. I clean it with grindz irregularly.

See above:
Aside from that advice, remove the upper burr carrier and if you can feel the edge of the burr dig into your finger nail, then you are likely OK, if your nail just slides over the edges of the burrs, think seriously about changing them.
I have seen lots of commercial machines from commercial service with burrs duller than a butter knife and the grinder was still grinding coffee, not near the quality it was capable of but grinding none the less. The point is, the grinder will grind coffee even if the burrs are shot. Bad burrs give you bad grounds, New burrs are about $50, how much is good coffee worth?
YMMV!
