kony seems good to go. with an endorsement from someone who has used them all side by side, I wouldnt take that lightly, as these are not common beasts to encounter all together.

Tasting same coffee on a Robur vs. a Kony, I notice a little more high end on the Kony, while the Robur had just a little bit more deep bass notes. Both are excellent, you cannot go wrong either way. Different people have different tastes. I chose the Robur over the Kony for myself.
And by the way, the Compak K10 has virtually identidal burrs (to a Robur) and virtually identical taste, no matter what the spec sheets say.
Here's a great comparison of grinders single dosed side by side performed by a professional taster: Click Here For reference, the Macap MXK has the same taste profile as the Mazzer Kony (from same size conical burrs)
But I see no reason to have an "E" grinder of either Kony or Robur in a home environment. For large conical grinders, the autodosing feature is nice and convenient, but for short sessions there can be a high percentage of wasted coffee due to grounds retention both in the chute and on the grind path. Operating with a full hopper and E-dosing (for short sessions) means either lots of waste (like, one full shot per session of waste); or defeating the E-dose feature by sweeping the chute and/or single dose grinding. Save some money and get a doser version....you can single dose or run it off a darkroom timer for precise dose grinding
Just my opinion, but with large conicals in the home, doser is the way to go. Mazzer dosers can be easily modified to sweep cleanly, and I find this very convenient for single dose or timed dose grinding. YMMV

The kony i have is the doser one pictured here. i use a gralab 505 darkroom timer. You cant see it because i put the timer on the floor so i can use it like a foot pedal.
I prefer a doser at home also. At work I need the robur to keep up the pace.
I have a shectermatic shnozzola on it and the micro switch out, a cabinet door rubber pad thingie behind the doser handle so it not as loud. I also have a sweeper on 2 of the blades.
if you want 2 grinders to produce the same shot you have to change something on one grinder or the other.
Plus you should adjust to taste anyway regardless of what grinder you are using.
I miss that setup, it was in my home, but i still get to make espresso at work. I have a dual boiler but its not set up right now.

Wasted coffee is really not that big of a concern for me. For the longest time I use to brush out the grinds from my Mazzer mini until one day I got tired of the whole thing and just settled on the fact that my first shot of the morning will contain some old coffee. I really don't taste any difference at all when a small amount of stale coffee is mixed in with the fresh.
My mini has the doser and it's an absolute mess making contraption which is why I really want to hold out for the E.
On a side note the Robour does have a slight advantage over the K10 in terms of bur size and especially motor output. Yes it's a very small difference but a difference just the same. The Robour is also constructed using more heavy duty materials.
I'm sure a K10 would more then adaquately handle the stress free envoronment of my home but given the option I think it has to be a Mazzer. Remember as well, my only real past grinder experience has been on my mini which has never ever once given my problems.
This will and should be the last grinder I will ever buy. I'm thinking.... why shouldn't it be the best?
