So basically might spring the extra money for a La Nuova Era Cuadra from first line, but if I do so i will be limited to getting the lelit PL53 grinder. I understand it is basic, but is step less. Any thoughts on is I should go this route or, buy a better grinder in combo with SBDU machine like the CC1 or Rancilio. The thought of a HX is pretty appealing to me, but also is a lot of machine for starting, but thinking If I go the SBDU I would end up upgrading to a HX sometime.

Disclaimer first: I sell the Lelit PL53 in the 220v world.
Granted that, it's a brilliant little grinder that easily outperforms grinders 4 times the price ... if all you want is superb espresso ground coffee. Outside that, it's relatively noisy, useless for anything else except espresso, and retains about 5 grams of coffee in the grind chamber.
It's very reliable, 10 years + if you don't try to grind for more than 20 coffees a day. In terms of shot quality and taste, it would be a good match for your Nuova Era, as long as you can live with the ergonomics.

Alan, thanks for the disclaimer and your thoughts, I am thinking about it as a choice for sure. Thanks for the info in the grinder chamber that is a big concern for me on a lot of the machines. I think I could live with 5 grams, much better than 12-20! I do not like wasting all the expensive coffee I will be buying. So many choices to consider but all impute is appreciated.
