I'm looking for my first setup and came across a used rocky grinder. It is white and priced around $200. I live in an area with limited grinder options. Those that are available, are pretty expensive.
Is this worth a look or will it be a headache in the long run?

There are many, many posts about the rocky grinder on this forum...white black...doesn't matter, it's still a Rocky.
In short, it's marginal for espresso because the steps are too wide, more often leaving you to choose too coarse or too fine and modify your dose to compensate.
Most people here, on CG believe you'd be better off spending $239 on a refurbished Baratza Preciso - myself included (having owned a Rocky before).

Were you thinking of buying that Silvia too? It looks like a v1 from the photo. What are they asking? Do you know if it works?

ha! I just saw your other thread where you mentioned you're in Taiwan...guess the Preciso refub is out.
Well, if you can tell us what's available to you, we can give you opinions. How's the shipping from Japan? Hario is there. Of course, that would require you be open to the idea of hand grinders.

Hey guys. I apologize that my post seems redundant. The wealth of rocky information led me to the grinder in question. I've never seen or heard about a white version. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't investing in a chinese tea grinder or something crazy like that.
I haven't seen a Precisio in Taiwan. A few Maestro and Virtuosos. Thanks for the tip on the Hario.
