I have a new Rancilio (no doser). I'm happy with the grind, but there is an annoying amount of grounds that collect in the chute. After using it a few times, the chute is essentially full of coffee grounds.
It doesn't clog the machine and keeps grinding with no troubles, but this means there's maybe a tablespoon of grounds from the previous grind that comes out first. Since the goal is to have freshly ground coffee this is a slight annoyance, however I've seen no other complaints of this nature on the Rancilio.
I roast my own grounds and they don't tend to be oily (I usually stop around FC+) and there doesn't appear to be a static problem, but I don't know how to evaluate that other than noting the grounds don't disburse when leaving the grinder.

I guess I've been spoiled by my cheap vertical grinder then. My wife drinks strictly decaf, while I'm strictly otherwise, so we would drop in the exact right amount and grind it fully for each drink. This way she gets caf in her decaf and gets the jitters. The only solution is to pregrind a good amount and then clean, which is a pretty crappy solution.
Cleaning it out between each grind is impractical given the geometry of the grinder.
