Hi All - Forgive me if this has been addressed before - I searched but was not able to find anything. My doserless Rancilio Rocky Jr jams pretty regularly; the motor slows down to a halt and stops, with a buzzing sound indicting it is receiving current, but jammed and unable to move. I can shake the daylights out of it and get it going again, but this is pretty much a constant when I use it, and I'd love to know if there's a way to avoid this? I'm using very fresh dark espresso blend from Zabars, a top coffee purveyor in NYC.

I did a google search for a Rocky "JR" and could not find anything about that grinder, is it perhaps a regular Rocky doserless? I might have missed something but I have never crossed paths with a Rocky Jr but there may indeed be one and I just do not know about it.
Anyway, when was the last time it was cleaned and the burrs were changed? Oily coffee tends to gum up the works much more than "dry" coffee.

Guess there's no "Jr" in the name. Don't know where I got that. It is doserless. How does one clean it, and what is considered a reasonable lifespan for the burrs?

There are a couple great pictorial essays on how to tear down a Rocky for thorough cleaning.
This website...CoffeeGeek...has one of them. It's under the guides and how tos link above (on the dark green bar). Or you can simply clikc this link: http://coffeegeek.com/guides/cleanrocky
Here's another locale: http://espressomyespresso.com/ It has step by step instructions, without pictures, under the how to section.
