Hey all. I'm a single-doser who uses a wide variety of coffees in my routine, but I've noticed that I can get some serious drift on my grinder and have to chase down settings I wrote down. For instance, I have a Kona Blend that was pulling well this morning at 2L, but I have an Organic medium roast blend that wants to be at 2E. No biggie, that's what the notches are for, right? After a session with the Medium roast, I ended up going back to the Kona at 2L, only to find it gushing out in 18 seconds--far too course, and with a lot of chaff mixed in. Any suggestions for switching back and forth between coffees on the Vario? Thanks!
I personally think that all the grinders need some grindings sessions (even 2-3 times) until the new settings come into effect. More experienced people with more grinders can correct me on that.
I single-dose too so when I change settings the grinder is empty of beans. At the new settings, I purge a small quantity of coffee (around 2-3g) and then I place the pre-weighted beans for my actual shot.
Along these lines, has there anywhere been a move to share settings among Vario-W owners for various blends? Could come in handy for getting started, especially for beginners.

i think there is just too much variability in grinders to do that. it would require all machines to be precisely calibrated, which isnt going to happen. also, different machines, pressures, PF baskets, bean age, etc have a such a impact that it is impossible.
It should take too long to dial in a bean anyway, just start finer than you think and work your way up to desired shot time/volume.
