Hi,
I bought a 2nd hand Mazzer super jolly from an auction.
Took it home, cleaned the burrs out and reassembled. Dialed it in. Problem is when I flick the switch 80-90% of the time it just hangs with a humming sounds (no grinding)
Up until this morning I could flick the switch a couple of times and then it would work, sometimes needing to coursen the grind. but this morning nothing :0(
Any ideas what I can check to get it back up and running?

For what it's worth, I just bought the same and with the same problem. The guy selling it to me slammed it on the blacktop before it started working again. I don't recommend this, but I only bring it up to say take heart and they're more durable than you think.

Sounds like it might be a bad or failing start capacitor on the motor. Espresso Parts has the Mazzer replacement part for about $70, though it's labeled a 30f (which seems very high. I'd guess 30microfarad) 120v cap, so you might be able to source something for less if you're electronics inclined.
note: 30 microfarad from an online parts list I found.
