I own 3 grinders currently and it just dawned on me that I'm probably using the wrong one.
1) Macap M5 - 58mm burrs - nice and shiny. Brand new burrs. 2) Nuova Simonelli MDU - 64mm burrs - ugly and kind of broken cosmetically. Burrs 'look' good. 3) Rancilio MD50 - 64mm burrs - ugly and was used with flavored beans previously... still smells. Brand new burrs (not used with flavored beans).
I've been using the Macap because it looks the best on the counter. But do bigger burrs mean better grind?
I've been putting so much energy into understanding the espresso machine and forgetting the most important part.
