I have a Mazzer mini doser for my Classic and I love it. The grinder outclasses the machine- which is a good thing. I have absolutely no complaints about the mini- it's a beast and will last forever.
The price you quoted seemed a bit high to me but I could be wrong. I got mine on sale at 1st Line, but they haven't had that price since.
Another option you could try for is a used Mazzer Super Jolly. After I bought my mini I suddenly noticed that there were a bunch available locally through craigslist for about $300. Super Jolly's are just a bigger version of the mini (basically). All the parts are totally replaceable if anything was wrong. If I were to buy another grinder, I'd look for a SJ first although it won't have that new car smell when you get it. :)
Good luck with whatever you get- You really can't go wrong with Mazzer, they are solid machines.

The price for the machine is actually $468,however I have to pay $40 NYS tax, plus $51 Fedex shipping. So the total plus everything is $559. I asked them to waive the shipping, but they can't combine two coupons. So, it's really frustration. Instead, I successfully got 3 cans of Illy whole bean coffee to reduce the cost of shipping. I hope their whole bean coffee is better than that of Starbucks. Anyway, it's the cheapest price for a new mini in U.S.
By the way, $15 for half pound of coffee is really expensive. I have no idea why they charge the coffee so much. I got 2 pounds of coffee beans from Starbucks for $20 plus a $10 gift card last month. Does Illy's coffee worth that price?
Super Jolly is really good. But it's so expensive even for a used one. Besides, I'm the kind of person that enjoying the feeling of unboxing a new stuff and the joy of exploring the coffee. I love unboxing!!! I guess that's why i paid $440 for a new gaggia classic and refused a $300 used Rancilio silvia 2.
