First post, just a quick pic of when I had a few minutes spare at my shop. Looking for some inspiration at the mo, reasonably competent at pouring/etching, but prefer pouring and am getting a little bored of Rosettas and hearts!

thanks for the vote of confidence, but my pours are not consistent at all. so when I do 4 drinks, maybe I can get 2 ok ones and the others come out as hearts...and all I can do are hearts and rosettas! I guess it really is just a matter of practice with start-stop or fast-slow pour techniques, cup tilting and pitcher rocking...and of course, one has to get the frothing just right, but I still would like some hands-on instruction from a real pro! Maybe that would help me ramp up the learning curve a little, since I only get to practice a couple of times a day and have no constructive criticism.

That's pretty much all it is when starting out, repetition. When I started to take it seriously I dedicated one whole summer to getting a rosetta down. After 3 months or so, I pretty much had it and from there just kept fine-tuning until I had all the steps "memorized". Then it slowly becomes muscle memory. One tip to help boost confidence would be to start out making less foam and gradually increasing it (at least for me). Too much foam will just fill up your cup and take away control of the pour. It also can be easier to start with a double shot as there is more time to react, instead of just a single shot. Your work is improving greatly though!
