Posted Fri Nov 28, 2008, 11:43pm Subject: Help! Nipple pulled off Achille steaming wand!
Hello. It's embarrassing that my first post to this forum is a cry for help, but....
My partner insisted that I try the frothing-aid in order to see if I'd use less milk making a latte. HOWEVER I erred in jamming the frothing-aid too far up the Achille's short, 3.75", wand. When I pulled it off after foaming (unsatisfactorily, to my eye) some milk, the nipple end of the wand detached from the wand and embedded itself in the frothing aid.
(With me so far?)
We retrieved the nipple, but it now fits loosely in the steaming wand. There _was_ some kind of clear plastic (or glue?) gasket that apparently kept the nipple in place, but this was destroyed when the nipple pulled out (or before).
Sooooo: What to do? That clear plastic gasket doesn't appear on the exploded parts list for the Achille (neither does the nipple, as a separate part #). The wand is no longer functional without the auto-foamer-thing. I'll call the vendor on Monday, but IF the answer is available at a hardware store (glue of some sort), or elsewhere I'd rather get to it. Thoughts?
