So I've had trouble putting my La Pavoni Professional back together in a meaningful pattern.
Specifically, the sight glass up the side leaks horribly and I had to make my own washers for the interface between the boiler and parts 59 and 63.
It still leaks from the silicone sleeves that cuff the ends of the glass tube of the sight glass. I contacted the supplier of the kit and have been advised that there should be no need to remove the retainers to change the seals.
He's very angry at me because I expressed my frustration that the advertisement stated that the seals kit was suitable for a Europiccolo/ Professional. That, and at the absence of the boiler/sight-glass retainer seal. I'm also an idiot for being the first of 20,000 customers in 10 years to have made a complaint.
Well, I'm embarrassed at having provoked such a response but I'm also seriously confused by his assertion that I can change the seals for the sight glass without having to remove the retainers.
Also, can a La Pavoni Europiccolo also be a Professional"

Angus, I owned a Millennium (51mm group) Europiccola. The Professional has a larger boiler, and thus can pull more shots. II would assume otherwise they are the same as far as basic construction. Pre-Millenium (with the 49mm group) I'm not so sure about. I know they had one boiler sized same as the 51mm group, but I'm not sure if there was a Professional model. I would have to assume so. I would think, in either case, the sight glass configuration would be the same.
I surely could be incorrect here regarding changes in the sight glass between the pre and post Millennium styles.

A little clarification the confusing thing about la pavoni lever machines: the line is called europiccola which then is divided between europiccola (8 cups smaller boiler) in different versions and finish) and professionale (bigger boiler, gauge etc etc)
in ANY case the sightglass fittings and the top screw above or gauge if is a professionale needs to be loosen and removed in order to access the gaskets
the other perhaps confusing thing:
for some years fairly recently, they made the sightglass fittings in plastic, such machines DIDN'T have the plastic fittings AND the brass washer together
the metal fittings (chrome brass or polish brass) DO have the brass washer in the sightglass assembly

Thanks for your replies.
I needed to confirm that I'm not completely mad and had missed an obvious method of evading the steric hindrance involved in removing an inflexible fragile tube from a couple of abutments. So the chromed retainers for the sight glass _do_ have to be removed.
This contradicts the chap running the shop: "...as to why you would consider removing parts 59 and 63 who knows..."
In response to my rather abrupt: "I am at a loss to explain to myself why the gasket array for the sight glass would omit parts 64 which are likely to be sacrificed in removing parts 59 and 63."
The advertisement was for a kit like item 220677531423.
I'm lining up to give him a negative for his customer service.

I do not have an "other shop" schematics but if you look at the one on our web page Click Here (espressocare.com) the fitting that I'm referring to are part 31 (both top and bottom) in drawing 2

Stefano, Correct, these retaining nuts compress the rubber/silicone cuff around the ends of the sight glass. Uniform pressure is applied through the copper washer between these two components. It is impossible to remove the glass without removing parts 23 and 24, during which process, it will be apparent that the seal part 28 will need replacement too. This is something the kit supplier has found objectionable.
The supplier's schematic is too big to upload and has corresponding numbers 66, 65, 64 for these parts.
This episode has left me with quite a headache and might drive me to drinking tea.

I have caved in and will take my machine to another service agent to have it sorted out.
I just don't have the time or energy.
It will not return to the first agent who refused to review a service and returned the machine with this electrical connection. (It was bought off eBay secondhand and he was asked to perform a full service) Since the warranty period had expired, the company repeatedly requested $165 for a review and refused to acknowledge that there might have been a problem.
