Trying to get Silvia together, after having ordered a new Steam Valve pipe and experiencing difficulty bending it into shape in order to screw the nuts into boiler and steam valve. Looks easy to get into shape until you take a hold of it. Any suggestions before I do more damage would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Im thinkin that you have the wrong pipe..And you would need a tiny pipe bender to bend the pipe without putting a kink in it...You might consider contacting the vendor...

The pipe appears to be the correct one, for the older Silvia. I dinged it up working on machine (steam valve maintenance), kinked it and ordered new one from Espresso Parts. I've got it almost in there, but I've kinked it a bit in process. Pipe came 'straight' and I had to angle/dangle it. I will contact Espresso Parts, for their recommendation as well.
A tiny pipe bender .... I should have looked into one of them in first place.

This probably won't be of any help, but - even though I've worked with copper tubing a number of times in the past, I only recently found out that soft copper tubing hardens when you bend it, so it doesn't want to bend again. So I'm guessing the key to doing what you're trying to do is to get it bent right the first time rather than working it. I think in theory it might be possible to resoften it by heating red hot then cooling it quickly in water, but I don't really know if this is a practical thing to do at home.
No, only 26 betweew the 2 of us as I just recounted them & I still have them saved. I just posted this on alt @ 12.01pm, 1 minute before I saw your post here.
Hi Kathy! I answered you on the CG forums. Can you post some pics of where you're at to date possibly please? Thanks & see ya there. Cheers! Sincerely, Craig.

kh99 - No, I knew Craig was kidding around. The guy is amazing and I did not want to personally both him. Anyway, I wondered if heating it would help and possible, but I'll tinker a bit more. My intent was to put the new pipe on as I received in from Espresso Parts - didn't expect to have to wrestle with it.

Yeah, I totally misunderstood what was going on and thought he was refering to instructions he gave to someone else (which is why I deleted that part from my post). Anyway, good luck.
