Subject: changing e61 rubber
 

hi,
i have a fiorenzato bricoletta.
it leaks between the piston and the rubber in the head.
so i want to renew that rubber., this big o-ring.
but i cant get it out.
tried with a smnall flat screwdriver but afraid to damage things...
any tricks ?

A good way to get it out is to screw a wood screw into the rubber, and then pull that out with pliers.  It will permanently damage the old one, but its a good quick way to get it out without hurting anything else.  Otherwise, screwdriver, paint can opener, etc. can be used to pry it out, just move slowly and carefully.

worked great with the wood screw !
the rubber is 8,5 mm thick so you won't easily damage the metal parts.
it was hard as a rock, think the previous owner never had it changed.
she used it only for one box of pad servings and then stored the bricoletta at her attick for two years ;-)
so its almost new, but all the rubbers have dried out...
