Hi All,
I was in the market for a Knock Box to go with my new espresso machine. I really like the looks of the Knock Box seen here, but when I saw it was $32.00, I thought to myself, "I can make one of those." Well, for less than $10.00 I did.
I bought a 1/6th size steam tray pan from a local kitchen supply store for $4.80. Built a box from some yellow pine boards. I Drilled a whole in the side of the pan and inserted a 1/2 x 6 in. hex bolt through it. I went to Auto Zone and got some black heater hose for $1.49 a ft. to go over the bolt. I had to use my router to cut a notch for the bolt heads to fit in, and then with a little black paint, I was all done. I decided to not permanently attach the pan to the box so that I can take it out for cleaning. So, what do you guys think?
I should be getting a Silvia Steam arm for my new Gaggia Coffee Deluxe soon. That should be a simple, straightforward modification. I have decided now to save my money for a PID Kit. That should be fun.
