I wonder if a male to male connector would have worked in order to keep the silva bolt in order to still be able to move the wand around.

I know this is an old thread, but I just completed this mod...I think. There is a small o ring on the silvia wand. When I tried using this when installing it, the wand and nut wouldn't grab the threads inside the Gaggia. So, I removed it and just used the Gaggia nut and the Silvia wand. It all fits ok and I get steam, so do I need the little o ring?

Thanks

Gaggia part 50 usually stays up in 49.  That makes the seal.  There is not room for another O ring.  I put this diagram in favorites and refer to it often, even to answer questions :)

I just noticed that espressoparts.com has the Rancilio wand on sale with free shipping. I ordered the wand and the adapter that Randytsuch suggested (thanks for finding that). Came out to about $26 shipped for both but they won't be shipping the wand until the week of 11/30- Not good if you're in a rush I suppose.

Thanks for all the info in this thread folks, I really hate my Gaggia Classic wand and can't wait to replace it.

I know this is semi-back from the dead....can you give more detail onthe adapter you mentioned that you also ordered?

Thanks,

I started a similar thread describing my attempt at a Classic mod. In case you missed the picture of the adapter, here is a picture of it:

Thanks, thats what I was looking for> The wand I ordered arrived today and after some more reading it looks like I'll install it without ordering the adapter...

Let us know how it works out. I'd send you the adapter for free but the shipping would probably cost more than just ordering the part from espressoparts with free shipping.
