Hello all
Just picked up a rancilio s24 from eBay. It's a 1999 model and has been in storage for a long time.
When I got it home, I opened it up and removed a few dead spiders, but everything looked intact and in reasonable condition. I filled up the water tank, flicked the power on and heard the pump click on to prime the boiler.
So far so good.
Next up, I flicked the brew button. Again the pump sounded for a short while but then suddenly cut out. Nothing coming from the brew head...
I think these pumps can sieze up if not used for long periods of time. Not sure exactly what brand pump the s24 has, but check this link out for some info. http://ulkapumprepair.blogspot.com/
Thanks for this. I pulled out the pump, took it apart and it did look a little tired. I had a spare which I swapped in and now the boiler is priming as it should and autofilling etc.
There seems to be a blockage in the brew circuit somewhere though. My money is on the three way valve but one of the nuts is stuck fast and won't budge! Blowtorch on the way. I won't be defeated...
