I know some people swear by Sproline's steam tip and was wondering what people thought about this product, or better yet, if anyone owns it.
After doing some research, I found before and after youtube videos of the product installed on a La Marzocco, claiming more even dispersion with the Sproline:
Considering how some of us can be finicky about such details as the holes in our baskets (vst baskets), is it safe to assume that the holes in our group screen may also play a role in extraction? It appears that water is even dispersed through the screw, which is neat.

There was quite a controversy about these on at least one thread over on H-B. You should read it for yourself, but once the advertising and arcane vacuum theories are set aside, the reviews from experience are mixed.
Given its unusual cost, it's worth checking this out and so you can form your own judgment about the value and likelihood of good mileage (google "sproline" and "screen" specifying home-barista.com as the site, you'll surely locate a thread or two).
Also on this topic, more than one LM owner has recommended that Synesso dispersion screens can be used with the LM saturated groupheads to good effect - the Synesso design is quite similar overall, but the build quality, durability and possibly evenness were considered superior at similar pricing to the LM screen.

This is an interesting topic.
I've often pondered whether the sproline steam tips would be worth the money to me, but haven't yet pulled the trigger on one. This is the first I've heard of their screens, and for me, they won't work because I have an E61 and don't screw in my screen.
However, I just did a thorough maintenance the other day and noticed that the replacement screens I got from CCS had a different hole pattern than the stock one on my Duetto. For no reason other than aesthetics and what I consider to "make sense" I liked the pattern in the stock screen much more than the replacement ones, such that I really didn't want to make the substitute - and fortunately, I didn't have to. The stock screens seemed to have more holes, with a more uniform distribution that covered more of the face.
