I have a Livia 90 Auto that has been acting up. At first, the auto-fill was starting and running too long when first powered on. A power cycle or two would correct this, and the machine would behave normally.
Now - when powered on the heater will come on, but when i push any of the buttons, the single shot light will turn on, the pump will start, but the group valve does not open. Basically - i can not use the machine. I opened it up - and everything looks normal (no water).
I expect that this is likely a control module/gicar failure, and could be an expensive part.
Does anyone know if these can be repaired? who does this etc?
How to confirm positively that this is the issue etc?
Any help - or similar experience would be highly appreciated.

The brains of a Livia 90 (at least the standard semi-auto model) is not all that expensive. If you open up the module there is a little chip like device which can be replaced. Do a search on the part number of the chip and order this instead of the whole assembly and you'll save a lot of money.
From your symptoms it doesn't sound like you have a control module problem. If the pump is coming on the control module is doing its job and the reservoir and boiler fill sensors should be happy.

Many thanks for the suggestion (on chip replacement for control module). Now the problem is intermitent. After I opened up the machine, and pulled off the contorl module cover, it put everything back together. At first alll seemed well, as for a few days there were no issues. Then it started lighting up the one shot button, and not stopping the pump at the end of the dose. After a power cycle or two, the machine behaves normally. I contacted pasquini, and they suggested it is either the flowmeter or control module, and that they can normally repair the control module for about $100 (vs $400 for a new one). They offered to test the parts, if i sent them in - but i may need to wait until the problem persists.
I think I will continue to monitor the problem until it gets worse, and possibly try the chip replacement path.
