Love the forum - hope you can help!
I've got a Nespresso machine that sat on the shelf for a year or so. When I tried to fire it up the other week all lights seemed to work, heater worked but the pump wouldn't pump water or steam through. I assumed a blockage so after waiting for the oval head socket to arrive I then opened her up.
There is a tube from the water container at the back that feeds water into the flowmeter. This then feeds to the bottom of an Invensys 60W pump and out into a smaller tube. Water free flows through the flow meter without any problem but if I disconnect the top of the pump nothing comes out. It vibrates like its trying to do its job. I've tried prodding with a small rod from the bottom up to free up what I think is a spring loaded o ring inside but still no joy. I also disconnected the tube from the water tank and blew through it to ensure the flow meter had enough pressure to spin to ensure the pump thought it had a water feed.
So now not sure what to do next. One option is to replace pump and/or flow meter though this is more than the machine is worth. I hate to be defeated by these things - any ideas?
