I was hoping I could get some light on this matter on my Gaggia Classic with silvia steam wand update. When ever I attemp to steam I cant get micro foam I have a Bellman Stove top steamer and i can definitely get micro foam on that. Upon inspecting I notice even after I purge my steam wand and let out all the steam into a frothing picture I get about a little over a half of OZ of water. Is this normal???
I make several attempts, but no matter, it seems to spew water out even after few purges, so i assume thats why my milk gets to temp so fast with no texture because the boiling hot water is being added to the milk.
What I have done to attempt to remedy this is; -checked the Steam Thermostat with a multi meter and a thermometer on the boiler and the boiler gets to about 300F before the Steam-stat opens (or stops boiling) I was told so long as the steam thermostat reachs at minimum 260f the Tstat is good (I ordered new thermostat just in case)
-I have descaled both group and steam wand (and worth mentioning I don't have a leaky steam wand when i pull a shot)
So any ideas???
If there is a certain technique or step im missing or am i rushing? I assume once the steam ligh is on and my thermometer tells me my boiler is at over 300F the water in the boiler is generally should be all steam.

I also have a Classic with Silvia wand. I have to purge a bit before I can get fairly dry steam. I purge into a container and I have not measured, but get perhaps 15 - 20 cc of water in sputter. If you shut off the steam for long, then the wand gets below steam temperature and can let some liquid form.
