We use a small espresso machine in our food truck t (it's a Breville, not the Roma but the next one up) It's obviously a tiny home machine yet it surprisingly works very well for us most of the time since we don't do primarily coffee - and it doesn't draw that much power, which is great since we're mobile.
In high-volume events, though , its limitations get very obvious, primarily in the steam department. We're considering upgrading to a bigger machine, which will probably happen at some point in the future (I would LOVE a propane-fired machine...hard to come by)
In the meantime, I was just thinking today that what I really need is simply MORE STEAM, which brings me to my question:
Does such a machine as a steam-only dispenser exist? Has anybody every built one?
Just thought of asking people's advice here before I start reinventing the wheel

You can get stand-alone 'steam-toy' espresso makers that are no good for espresso but they come with steam wands. The quality and ease of frothing milk with them varies from model to model. I bought a Krups steam toy for $5 at a garage sale. You can search craigslist and ebay for bellman 'moka pots' (called espresso makers) with steam wands. I assume you want one that plugs in, not one the takes up space on your burners. Here is such an example: Click Here (www.ebay.com) Make sure you include the term 'electric' in your search or you will get stovetop models, too.
