There are some who think it takes too long for an insulated boiler to cool back down after steaming, I usually heat my boiler for about 45 seconds with steam switch, then flush the steam/hot water through the portafilter (3 pulls of 2 oz each, or until my PID starts heating the water again), wait another 3 minutes, grouphead temperature settles out at right around 200F, then pull shot. (Have a TC mounted on grouphead as well to measure grouphead temp) I have ordered some aerogel insulation, will post how that works out. (Going to do active heating of the grouphead as well, as soon as my PTC Heaters and new PID show up.)
