I have an older SJ, which I like, but the doser is the old, chewed-up aluminum looking version.  I would love to trade (or buy?) for one (chrome?) in better shape if you are removing it...

Any interest?

Aluminum will often yield nicely to buffing with 200 to 600 grit wet/dry.  Just a thought.  Scott

I will certainly try that approach at some point - though there are some major chunks gouged out that will be hard to smooth... There are also segmenting lines cast into the body that can't be filled or removed.

It's not a huge deal, but I thought with all the SJ dosers being tossed around lately...

I'd be interested in trading/buying one as well.

I too would be intrested in picking up a new doser unit that isn't as chewed up as the one I currently own.  If anyone is thinking about turning their machine into a doserless, and are thining about tossing the doser...let me know as well.

Thanks

Dear all;

Emailed EPNW today.  Dosser-less kits are on backorder.  No date of arrival.

The Chrome one will stay on until the kit comes.

The AL on has been taken off and replaced with a 4 to 2 inch piece of PVC.  I really don't want to bring either in out of the garage until I get the full conversions done.

Finding a place in the office coffee bar is getting to be tricker than I had thought, and Office manager will not let me put a SJ in my office ( safety schmaftety )

More details to follow on the saga as they arrive.

If I forget, someone bump the thread back on the front page or E-mail and I will reply.

Dear Geeks;

In the end,  I had to cancel the dosserless kits, it was just dragging on too long with no end in sight.

Our office manager agreed to my Rocky, but not a SJ in the office.

A coffee geek member made me an offer via private e-mail on the other  SJ.  I felt this person was well known on the foums, and made what I thought was a good geek deal.  If they prefer to comment, please give all the details  that you are comfortable with.   ---

Thus, I now have one SJ with the chrome dosser, and no dosserless parts left.  I just decided my PVC was too ugly.

I am now stuck with exactly what to do as I would prefer dosserless, cannot  buy one, and am not happy with current efforts to build one.

Best;

Dave
