I've recently purchased a La Pavoni Professional Lusso and wondered:

The on-off switch LED is allways on when plugged in -  is this normal ?

Not that I know of.  Sounds like there may be a problem, but I don't know what it would be.

I contacted LaPavoni 6 weeks ago to describe the issue. They acknowledged the problem as incorrect wirring.
Why this problem was not discovered during the commissioning I don't know, and makes me wonder how much testing and final adjustement are actually performed at the factory.

I contacted the local vendor but they would not solve the matter unless I paid them. Somehow the concept of 1 year european garantee is astranged when it comes to espresso machines. As they said in the shop: "you are not buyind a Rolls Royce....just a coffee machine".

So here I am.... spent 700€ on an espresso machine, and it doesnt work as its supposed to. My alternative is to spend a substantial amount on shipping and insurance, as well as attempt to survive without a real cup of espresso (i live in Denmark....) or wait for several months ("Domani...domani...") in order for LaPavoni to get serious about aftersales.

I am about to give up with the producer and the vendor. I will open the machine myself (as soon as I find the tool I need) and use the opportunity to add some lead to that baby.

Where did you buy it?

Surely Østerlandsk Thehus would repair under warranty if it is one of theirs. Even if not, they are the official rep's in Denmark for Lapavoni and should as such be able to sort you out under warranty from the mother company.

If this fails, the cheapest option is probably to get Søren from espresso.as to fix it for you. He's done up quite a few of these. Lastly, you could of course do it yourself. The layout underneath is extremely simple, re-wiring shouldn't present a major challenge.

I have one of these myself and it has been in stready use every day the last five years. The good thing is that these generally require very little maintenance beyond what you can do yourself (annual change of gaskets etc.).

Best

Thomas

Hej GammelToft,

I actually received my machine as a present from my girlfriend. She purchased it directly through LaPavoni.

I went to Østerlands Thehus following LaPavoni's recommendation, to explain the situation. They told me they would only cover if the machine was purchased directly through them, and that the concept on one year europeean garantee did not exist. (the used expression was "its not like a Rolls Royce..") - this is of course total bollocks.

I will call LaPavoni (again....) and ask for a clear statement from them regarding their agreement with Østerlands Thehus. If the fails, I will most likely fix it myself. BTW...thanks for the link to espresso.as. I am just checking out their online shop.  As you can understand, I am a bit pissed off at Østerlands for their poor customer service and snobby attitute, and I therefor dont wish to spend my time there.

Can you tell me a bit more about this other place? Is this where you buy your beans in DK? Anyway.. if possible I will try to drive by: That NovoPack roaster seems like a fun (and slighly expensive) toy.

Cheers,
