W-why ..yes  of course..  of course it's a dragon,  I was definitely going for a dragon... it's obvious..

Actually.. I had a breakthrough tonight..  I finally understand the pouring speed required to get the milk to come back up through the crema..

Btw.. this is black cat decaf,  and I have to say,  it is awesome..  Once I dialed in the grind i started pulling those maroon brown shots..And it tastes like it's caffeinated sister..

Looks like this is going to be my staple bean... No more caffeine for me!

My art is getting better.. no more sneezes--  Um.. i mean DRAGONS for me..

I just started playing with this myself.  So far, the only thing I can duplicate on a regular basis is a sneeze as well.

I'm reading this at work right now, and the sneeze really is the perfect description for how my art looks so far.  Its so dead on, that I keep laughing in my cube.  The guy in the next cube keeps looking at me to figure out what keeps making me crack up.  I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm looking at pr0n, but then again, he only drinks DD coffee.  So his opinion doesn't really count.

Anyway, thanks for the laugh!

Ok.. that's it.. i'm switching to singles and pouring mini latte's so at least I get TWO tries at making a sneeze, per 14 grams..

My shots are beautiful at least....  but maybe the problem is I put too little milk in my steaming mug?

I'm usually left with a teaspoon of milk in the jug..

It is easier to make the microfoam with more milk, and easier to pour i guess.

Dude, your "sneeze" is still better than my art!  I've got a "The Blob" thing going on.  If I can borrow my dad's digital camera I'll post a pic sometime for a good laugh.

I'm right there with you.  I finally figured out how to get the micro foam done properly and now I don't have good pour control.

Like anything else, it just takes patience.

yeah.. the pour control...took me forever to get the milk to rise in the center of the cup.. I *THOUGHT * had it licked, but I did such a bad job steaming the milk on the above sneeze that I had no chance to salvage it..

Actually  today's coffee,  I overstretched it, and got way too much foam,  I didn't swirl it enough to save it and ended up with your blob...

I didn't bother to photograph it.. blobs are too unworthy to photograph.. lol..

(Is it just me, or does sneeze number two look like a bird with a big nose? )

If your having trouble with this, try to make sure that the spout of the pitcher is as close to the surface of the milk as possible while pouring. The natural tendancy is to raise the pitcher, doing so sinks the design. HTH
