Subject: best vendor for Silvia/Rocky combo

I am looking to buy a Silvia and rocky in the next 6 months or so ( or might consider a less expensive HX machine) and I was wondering where it is best to buy it from. I know that wholelattelove, chris's coffee, sweet marias and aabre coffee sell them plus others. My understanding is that the vendor that sells them handles service not Rancillio, so I need someone who is easy to deal with and responds to problems quickly. Also, some places like Sweet Maria's include extras like a tamper, steaming pitcher, samples of coffee etc.

any input into where to buy my new machine and grinder appreciated as well as discussion of silvia vs HX machine. i would not want to upgrade again for a while. I currently have a machine with a pressurized portafilter and a cheapo cusinart burr grinder. makes decent shots but they have very pale crema.

thanks.

I can't speak to your specific questions but FWIW, at the top of the page I'm looking at is an ad for 1st in Coffee, so they are a CG sponsor. All else being equal (and I'm not suggesting it is) that might be a criteria. Also, they offer the Rancilio two drawer base at no charge when purchasing Rocky and Sylvia together.

I look forward to the replies from our more experienced members since I am considering the same combo, though not simultaneously (I like being married).
