Hi All -

I have a Classe 10, it's great, I love it, BUT

I'm opening a new store & am staring from scratch. What's the benefit of a zocco over a rancilio? I've used many different rancilios over the past 13 years and never had a single problem with them (ok, just watch, tomorrow my boiler will blow & the digital readout will start swearing at me in Italian). I've recently started research on the new arrivals & hear all the buzz on the gb5. Anyone with significant knowlwdge beyond the cut sheets?

any help would be appreciated!

Depends on your coffee....
I don't know what you serve over in Kendall Sq. but I can sugggest CG is not the place to get business advice.
If you want, look up Adam and John @ Atomic Cafe in Beverly, MA.  They have a GB5 and could cut you a deal on one as they are somewhat regional LM distributors.  The GB5 is a whole lot of machine and you need to have good enough quality coffee(read high grade, ripe, etc...) AND enough espresso volume to justify that kind of expense.  I really know nothing about your setup or skills set to even push you in a direction beyond saying, if it isn't broke....
Free advice my fellow Cantabridgian.

I don't think you can really compare three machines like that.  I mean, I hear they're all superb machines.  But, you have to put a few things into consideration:

First, who's going to service the machine?  If you can get the Classe 8 serviced in the same town as your shop is, but not the GB5, the 8 would be better.

Second, what are you more comfortable with?  A GB5 may be a great machine, but if you don't like using it, what's the point?

Third, are you going to be serving coffee with such a passion that the GB5 makes sense economically?  The GB5 is going to cost a lot more, but what if you're not going to use the extra functionality?  What's the point?

I just bought a Rancilio classe 10 sde with the TSC steamer. I am having trouble programing the dose. I hold in the bottom (water) button until it flashes then press the double shot and shut it off at the appropriate moment then again hit the bottom button but does not set the program.
CAN ANYONE HELP.
