Now that 220v customers around the world are getting delivery notices, I thought it was time to check back with ESI for the N. America story. LM is still working on NSF and UL approval for our market. ESI is now projecting "1st quarter of 2007" for deliveries to begin, but not likely to be at the beginning of the quarter. The ESI sales cards that Kent Bakke handed out at the SCAA Homecoming last July said "Early 2007" for projected delivies to begin. So, I guess they are still on target (although Kent told us he was hoping for 4th quarter 2006).

Straight from the horses' mouth:
- November (possibly the 1st) will begin full production - NSF and UL (and CE) are going through, projected to be fine in the next month or two - Klaus will be getting his soon ;) - when production begins, they will be making both 110V and 220V, which shows confidence that the ratings will be not a problem.
But other interesting news - if anyone in Seattle wants to see Bill C.'s other project (with others at LM / ESI), drop by Schomer's store next week or the week later.... all I can say for now, but as soon as the project is on the bench / counter at Vivace, I'll write more.

I'm not in N. America, but I have received confirmation that mine will ship from Florence on December 22nd. If I understand correctly, this will be from the same batch (of 8 arriving to Denmark around new year's) as Klaus' machine... ...but I could be wrong.
Another project? Is this the rumoured new grinder?
BUT - I did tell Bill that, as good as it was that he was getting Schomer to bench test it, he really should get this new project in the hands of guys like Nick Cho, Billy Wilson, Jay Caragay, Alistair Durie, and others who have been very vocal about a sorely lacking portion of the espresso preparation steps.
I know I started this "horse's mouth" thing, but, I think we have to concede at this point that this particular pony is in Florence, not Seattle, and anyone not speaking directly to it (preferably in Italian) is only talking to a "reliable source."

If you do not yet have your name on a waiting list what do you think the chances of getting a GS3 by next Sept. are? I emailed esi to try and get on the waiting list is this the way to get on the list? I also emailed La Marzocco directly. Thanks,

Not really. The pony at this stage be UL and NSF. And CE. ;) And that's all being handled afaik out of Seattle. The production was supposed to start Oct. 15 or thereabouts, but is pushed back by a few weeks.
I didn't talk to Italy today, but I did talk to Stockholm and Seattle! Interesting people, those two cities - full of diverse stories.
